I did not envy Prof. Osunbor during the process.It was a situation where strategic pacification played a role. The selection process was deliberate, analyzed in-depth, researched, and all inexpressively irrelevant data were considered.Yes, they were considered. Also considered were issues of competencies based on chances of winning the race. I had my leanings based on what I know of both of the final two candidates. For the interest of the people of Edo State, he must have applied a deviational mind and an exploratory approach to selecting Lucky Imasuen.
I tried numerous times to reach Prof. Osunbor during the process and failed. His line went unanswered.I ended up sending him a text message advising him to remain diligent in his selection for the interest of the people of Edo State. Regardless of how he reached his decision, I commend him.
Lucky Imasuen
I have only met him once. When Governor Lucky Igbinedion, during one of his private visit to California was at the Grand Sheraton in Sacramento, I called over to his hotel room at about 10:00 p.m. to speak with him briefly. Lucky Imasuen answered the phone and said the governor was sleeping. I remarked that it was the jetlag (Lucky Igbinedion later told me the next day that he flies a lot and was pretty much unaffected by jetlags). Mr. Imasuen was friendly, respectful in his tone and was welcoming in nature. That was my first conversation with him. I subsequently met Imasuen the next day and though I did not get to engage him as much as I would have liked due to the business of the event, I maintained a regard for him.

Is Lucky Imasuen capable of the role and the framework designed to succeed as a deputy to Osunbor? I can't respond to this question. What I hope is that he doesn't function based solely on the law of reciprocity.The consensus based on skills is not clear at this point. What is clear is the pacification aspect. Several power players with vested interest were involved in the selection process. Reality is, Prof. Osunbor couldn't ignore these core group. As with politics in most developed countries, one must be wise in a making a selection that is embodied with a storehouse of connections to help win the actual race.Sometimes, skills and competencies alone can't do it. A concern of how the tag team can eventually overcome all rival battles for ultimate success matters much. Prof. Osunbor must have thought of these concerns when he delicately and wisely made his selection.
Prof. Osunbor should be considerate of Edo State in all. He wants to win and that means he needs the core team of people that will help him achieve that goal. As sad as it may appear, godfathers do play a role in that process. That is the nature of the political game at this point in Nigeria. We can't dispute that fact.
It is clear that Prof. Osunbor needs the core team of Anenih, Igbinedion, and others power players in Edo State to win. This new development will eliminate the likelihood of Igbinedion supporting Comrade Oshiomohle. In a long breath of reasoning, let's hope that Imasuen will help Edo State and Prof. Osunbor in creating a change.Spread The Word

It's clear that you know little or nothing about this Lucky Imasuen. We didn't need to know that you're making efforts to talk with him. Unnecessary information with sycophantic undertone.
It seems that your governor-in-waiting is also keen on making deals with Igbinedion. I recall that you accused Oshiomole of a similar crime.

My goodness. I am confused about this guy called fadal. He has absolutely no credibility left as a commentator. I think he is an Agbero simply seeking a parking space for his driver.
Why am I so harsh on Sylvester Fadal Phd ? Please read the last paragraph of his article above and compare this with his article on the selection of Professor Osunbor where he berated Adams Oshiomole for his association with Igbinedion. But Osunbor in fadals view is wise to have done exactly the same. What hogwash? Fadal forget about it you are no credible political analyst or commentator. You will like to see Osunbor as the next governor of Edo and that is perfectly OK and is within your right. But don't go about trying to hoodwink us about some credible research about the candidates.

It is now becoming difficult to follow Dr Fadal's reasoning on Professor Osunbor candidacy as the best for Edo. He started with a logical first piece and has drifted since. Conclusion: Mr. Fadal is a cheer leader seeking to catch Professor Osunbor's attention.

There are bunch of Olodos everywhere as shown here. Dr. Fadal made a report and clearly stated that the compromise reached by Osunbor raises concern. This means he is concerned about it. Here are empty heads criticizing his person for baseless reasons. These olodo rabatas should write their own points of views rather than hide their tendons under their you know what. Naijas still have retards. Typical cult members that support Oshimole. Na wah.

First I will like to thank you for the interest you have shown so far in the political process of Edo state, and the effort you have made to investigate the major candidate begging to occupy the set Mr. lucky Igbinedion will be vacating by next year. Until I read your analyses of the two major candidates, I really did not have informations about their past activities. You have shown light on some of the achievements of Professor Osunbor, but have never really informed about Mr. Adams Oshiomhole. However, I ran into this information sent into my mail box from the eddo-nation website. It is surpassing to hear from the mouth of persons consider to be in the opposite party talk good things about Oshiomhole, beside for the chairman of the Efcc to say praise this oshiomhole, means that he is to be consider as a possible candidate of Mr. lucky igbinedion set.
The following was recorded during the found raising of Mr. Osiomhole in Lagos. We most live sentiments aside and try to look for the best person, for the benefit of our people.
Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) Minister Mallam Nasir el-Rufai and Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) Nuhu Ribadu have declared their support for the governorship ambition of the President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, declaring him as a rare breed whose experience and knowledge would help in the search for a better Nigeria.
Speaking during a fund raising dinner organized by the Adams Oshiomhole Foundation, in furtherance of the aspiration of the labour leader to rule Edo State in 2007, the duo urged all well meaning people to come to the aid of Oshiomhole financially and help him realize his ambition. First to speak was the FCT Minister who in his characteristics blunt manner shook the audience at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, venue of the dinneras he argued that Oshiomhole deserves the support of all Nigerians in his aspiration irrespective of party affiliation. We understand why you did not join our party. But wherever you are, our soul, our hearts and our pocket will be with you, he assured. Reviewing the activities of NLC President while a member of the National Privatization Council (NCP), Rufai stated that Oshiomholes position on all issues was not dogmatic, but influenced only by the benefits Nigerians would derive from the privatization. According to him, when many activists viewed privatization with disdain, Oshiomhole did not only contribute actively to debate on the issues but ensured that the policies and programmes that emerged from it were such that will enhance the welfare of Nigerian people, adding: He is one of the few Nigerians I have the greatest respect for. We need leaders who can bring out the best in people. Oshiomhole represents the best of the good people we believe in. We are expecting that one day, all Nigerians will be like Oshiomhole, and then we will be able to go to sleep, Rufai noted
He said that his presence along with Mallam Ribadu, Ms Ifueko Omoigui, Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service among others, was a demonstration of their belief and commitment to the struggle and aspiration of Oshiomhole.
The FCT minister urged the labour leader not to deviate from the course which he is noted for in any position he finds himself in the future. Responding, Oshiomhole said he was impressed that Nigerians valued the struggle he had waged, noting that he believed in the future of the country, and that in spite of whatever people would say of the present government, Obasanjo was able to assemble technocrats without ethnic and political considerations in his effort to rebuild the country
The government has done a couple of things right and some wrong. But one thing that you cannot deny the government is that Obasanjo has been able to bring on board young professionals in the respective fields, not necessarily because they are party faithful, but because of their capacity and outstanding achievements to human developmentHe commended the FCT Minister and Ribadu, for finding time to honour his fund-raising dinner, saying that in spite of their different views on some issues, their loyalty to the Nigeria nation was never in doubt. This is to whoever posted comment # 4. Those you refer to as retards are smarter than you are. At least they could recognise that sylvester fadal was trying to pass a biased trash as credible political commentary. Your comments says alot about you. In your estimate anyone who does not have or support a pro-osunbor or pro-PDP view is a retard or cultist. By the way, many people would rather not put up any point of view than put up trash as you and Fadal have done. Putting your views on the internet does not make you a celebrity, an expert or a hero whose point of view is not assailable. Neither does it make you a better writer than those who have not put out their view. If you write anything on the internet, expect to be criticised and stop the whinning.

EDO state is indeed a lucky State with these two giants contesting for its Governorship. Every lover of Edo State should pray that Prof Osunbor wins the Governorship Race. Maybe our brothers in Ondo, Oyo, Oshun, Ekiti, Ogun and Lagos would learn from Edo and put their best foot forward next time. I have no doubt that Prof Osunbor would do well as the the next Governor of Edo State. Adams Oshiomhole too, would do well in doing what he knows best i.e. opposition!

Dr. Fadal did not raise any concern anywhere in the entire article about the compromise Prof. Osunbor has apparently made. He rather made profuse excuses for these "unfortunate" compromises. This is DESPICABLE to say the least, because he (Dr. Fadal) condemned Comrade Oshiomole for allegedly making deals with Governor Igbinedion.
Now you know we are not olodos. By the way, thanks for insulting all of us.

I quite appreciate the "Dr" for his desire to speak on Prof. Osunbor. You have to be in Edo tate to know how to talk about issues. I want to see that the man Edo people need now is Adams. He has demonstrated selfless services in various capacities. Let us not hide from the fact, PDP government has failed us in the past eight years. A graduate in Edo State is by geographical location "jobless". What exactly has Osunbor or Lucky Imaseun who has been in Igbinedion's cabinet done for Edo people? promises during elections is not what we need, we need capital investment that would create jobs.

The people of Edo state need to pray and trust God for whoever emerges to be a blessing to the state. The word of God trained me not to trust in man but God who is able to transform man and use him as a blessing to the people. So, instead of protest, rioting and killing one another, let us humble ourselves and start praying now! May God hear the cry of the people of Edo state of Nigeria.
